Description:
ARMEdit is a suite of Freeware utilities for use with Acorn and Aleph
One PC cards, and Acorn's !PCEm. It consists of a RISC OS module, a
desktop front-end application, several DOS executables, and support
for third party programmers.
The current release includes:
* PUTFILE and GETFILE utilities like those supplied with the Acorn
software PC emulator, but enhanced to make them easier to use.
* An OSCLI utility to allow RISC OS *commands to be called from
DOS, with the input and output streams tied to those of the DOS
command. The commands may optionally be executed in a TaskWindow,
and VDU sequences can be processed prior to display of the
output.
* A DOS command ARMEDIT which will allow PC files to be edited in a
RISC OS editor using the External Data Editing Protocol
(supported by both Zap and StrongEd).
* A DOS device driver ARMEDIT.SYS to allow RISC OS filesystems to
be read like the normal PC partition. This supports Windows 95
long filenames and allows the device size to be configured.
* A RISC OS front-end allowing multiple PC card configurations to
be defined and used, and providing easy installation and
configuration of the whole suite.
* A command to allow the multitasking speed of the PC front-end to
be controllled. * Documentation, header files and object code to
allow extra PC utilities to be written using the communication
and RISC OS services provided.
Cheers.
